EPE in Natick. Not particularly cheap, but they do it right. They have tons of experience with air-cooled.

I've been going to Jerry at EPE for two years now and I've been very happy with his work. Labor rates are high but I think they're worth it.

If you are on the northern side of Boston, Blair Talbot Motors is very good.

Been going to Bill Pfister (owner) at Eurotech Advanced Automotive (link below) for 5 years. Highly recommend - easy to deal with, will walk through options with you and not push you into unnecessary expenses. There was at least one other thread with this question out there if you search. Also open on Saturdays if that's helpful.

Autobahn in Peabody, if you are on the Northshore. They do great work, totally capable and have a number of faithful followers.

Good to know. I bought a car that had extensive work done by Bill's shop. Spoke with Bill, he remembered car & work done, seemed like a genuine Porsche dude.

Both Bill and Jerry are "genuine Porsche dudes". You'll be well taken care of at either of their shops.

+1

I can also recommend Len & Mark Cummings at Auto Sport Engineering, out in the woods of Stow.
We really are spoiled for choice in this area.

If you are south of Boston, try Kenny Conway (http://conwayautoworks.com/). Meticulous, and some of his fabrication & welding should be in museums.

Both Kenny & Jerry (EPE) have worked on my 88 3.2 and my current 93 964. Both are excellent.

Although no personal experience, I have heard a lot of great things about Blair Talbot as well as the guys at Autobahn.

Guess a lot will have to do with your location...

Phil
