Somewhere in the clouds of my mind I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the 16-inch Fuchs for the 944 would work for our 964s.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I'm thinking no way. There should be enough information on this page to make the determination:

Thanks for the above link...great site for comparing wheels.

As for the 18-inch Kerschers, not really the look I'm looking for and 18 inches probably too big for my roads. I need the sidewalls of a 16- or 17-inch wheel.

Another well constructed website, especially useful for visualizing all the parameters that go into wheel/tire sizing. It doesn't get into the particulars of a given make/model/year automobile and what range of offsets would work for a given wheel size.

Paul Stephens, the usual backdating suspect from Blighty does a nice fuch-a-like..

One version has softer petals, still probably too modern for your taste, but I think they are jolly nice...

recently bought a '91 C2 T to backdate....and 16" Fuchs(alike) are the way to go. Still talking to shops, making a budget etc, but may join you for a group buy. I'm in Toronto though, shipment has to be separate

Lindsay Racing do some nice ones, both 2 and 3 piece variants, I think the 2 piece look the best:

I think that red RSA looks great! The 964 can swing both ways I think depending on details. The Fuchs on that RSA with the ducktail wing look great. He also hasn't painted out the satin black undersides of the side sills and bumpers, which I think keeps the side profile looking 'slim' on colours like red. If the front spoiler was satin black with maybe some narrower mirrors like the rounded strosek ones or little race ones on Franks car that RSA would be perfect to my eyes. Although I still think 964's on genuine cups with aero mirrors also look perfect, just a different perfect, if that makes sense...!
