Default Star before engine number

Does the star mean anything? Trying to verify if head gasket TSB might have been performed.

I think I was told that there should be one before and one after so the serial could not be altered.

I have a related question sorry to jump in to your thread, how do you match the engine number to the sticker in the car? I'm trying to see if my engine is original to the car.

I read somewhere that if the mod was done that it is stamped under the engine shroud somewhere and is not accessable with the engine in the car.

You can ask porsche about your vin and engine number. They will give you a certificate including 3 numbers (vin, transmission & engine). And yes, you have to pay...
