Default Lightweight tin ware?

Ive seen an ad on ebay for fibreglass/GRP replacement tin ware.
The ad states for early sc engine.
Will this fit a 964 engine?
Is this replacement stuff any good, any one used it?

My car needs sum tinware and its very expensive so this may be a good idea?

I inquired about that a while ago. Unfortunately it doesn't fit though.
There is a guy who can do them though. I'm just waiting to hear back from him as to wether he will go into full production or just make to order

How will the fiberglass hold up to the engine heat?

No problem, I've had mine on for the last 3-4k without problems.

Few pics on these threads.

You can run into issues with the front piece if you still run the primary muffler. It will depend on the resin they used and how much space there is between the two. The regular polyester resin that most shops favor is not such good idea! I ended up mixing a batch of high temperature polyurethane with alumina trihydrate just for piece of mind. It only reaches its maximum temperature range (500F+) after baking at 300F for a period of time which (i think) it did the first time I ran the engine with everything in place. I nearly pissed myself from the out-gassing and smoke, thought I had set the car on fire...

The tinware on mine was made from a 390gsm 2x2 twill pattern, 2 layers.

There are a couple of areas where it is pretty close to the headers but has had no effect on the fibreglass.

Fibreglass or metal.

Any ideas?

Goin to do engine after summer, and I need at least the 3 rear panels.

I can get a dansk centre copy, £230. The side bits £70 each.
Thats a lot of money for not a lot of metal.

Yep, and it's cheap crap that will rust again, no idea why dansk or someone isn't making it in stainless yet.

I still love the fibreglass stuff but I am slightly biased.

Can't remember exactly what I paid but mine were the first 964 ones so got a discount, try giving Nick Fulljames at Redtek a call as will be able to give you a price for it.

Pitch a group buy; I think you'd get traction...
