hoping to get some wrench time.... on tap is to check my alternator/fan bearings for a rattle source, and fluid check for the power steering. The steering is very slow and I've had the rack leak for a while. Not sure why just yet, but certainly worth looking at.
also going to pull the Driver's seat out and clean up the crap under it.

Burning Brakes
Got a few things to wrench this weekend, but not on the 964...the Mazda needs a new alternator (pick one up tomorrow) and the Skyline needs its head retorqued.

One of these days, I need to take care of the temporary fix, once it starts leaking again!
For me...just put the rebuilt beast back on the road last weekend, so time to put it up in the air and check out my work.

Been doing lots of 964 work lately, primarily:
Suspension is in (Bilstein / HR green)
Steering wheel (momo mod 07) is in and the horn works
shift linkage bushings are replaced
Steering rack boots are changed out, but I unfortunately put a minor tear in one and will need to do it again.
I also bled the brakes, bled and regreased the clutch slave cylinder, replaced oil sender seal and did a bunch other minor work.
Seats should be in next week, so I just need to finish putting vinyl on the taillights, get an alignment, and I should be good to go.

Won't have any time for the 964s this weekend. My GF and I are going to a friends wedding tomorrow. Sunday is always filled with errands. However, I did get my starter rebuilt this week and dropped off the engine cooling tin to be powder coated so I am making some progress on the engine rebuild. I also have a big order for parts, mostly oil lines & breather hoses plus a new oil cooler.

I did this on Wednesday... took a ride out to the Oregon coast to clear my head. Great drive, but too many members of local law enforcement to take it too seriously...
You can still build fires on the beach in Oregon. So cool. Didn't spot any Tsunami artifacts... but you never know.

No 964 stuff though I have a ding under DS headlight I need to pop out and respray but I am focusing on getting our project 86 mustang gt up and running with the original fuel injection after being idle and half torn apart for 10 plus years. on the positive it pops over if I mist fuel down the TB

No 964 work this weekend (I don't think). I purchased a full suite of detailing tools recently, so I'll have a crack at my DD and try to make it all pretty.
The clutch on the C4 is pooched so I'm researching, printing and cataloguing every single "Engine Drop" thread on here. A couple of mates (more talented than me) are going to give it a go in the next few weeks.
I'm equal parts excited and nervous.

Been all 964 all the time around my house lately. Springs, dampers, ball joints, tires, tie rods, FCA bushes, front bearings plus $400 or so of WYIT.
I'm well past Max Dissassembly now; last night I put the bearings into the hubs, fitted the new tie rods and boots, and mounted up the refreshed FCAs. My parts pile grows smaller!
Pulled apart one of the original factory front spring/damper assemblies for S&G... no gas charge, and very strange force/deflection curve. Not quite gritty... notchy, maybe. Def well past time for new.

remain carless....(wtf) as we not only debate car we should have ( i prefer dated p-cars, wife loves new new mustang 302 seguna laguna) or whether we should even rent car space (for trips to costco?).
but busy wk in the port - for interesting vessels. seen from our condo the ro-ro (car carrier) 'emerald ace' is huge & hybrid (runs on lithium batteries/solar powered to negate emissions nearby harbors), carries 6600 cars, 2 football fields long. will be last ship out of mitsubishi heavy shipyard as its now committed to sub construction....& gorgeous tall ship 60 yr old, 4 mast barque for naval training cadets.
wkend - hot chile, peach marheritas........
