Rear deck is casting a shadow on the upper right side, like it's not close to fitting up correctly - it that real or optical?

bearclaw good catch. The deck lid is not orginal to the car. I bought and had it painted before I fit it up to the car and found it to be slitley sprung. The original lid had been drilled and a carrera tail put on it. Though the picture shows it much worse then it is in person its hard to see.

I was thinking 24k on the car does that sound unrealistic consider I have records dating back to 2001 showing a bunch of work and the paint is in a good condition.

You really should not factor any of the work you did to the car into the value. If you were looking at an aircraft with engine TBO, then I can see the engine work would add value to the vehicle. In general, as you know, it is worth only as much as someone is going to pay for it. The things you did probably might speed the sale or make it more desirable at some point if you find the right person at the right time. I would start to base the value of the car on KBB (or similar source) trade in allowance, not retail sales or self sales values. This is close to wholesale, the true "value" of the car at this time. It is based only on mileage, overall condition and options. Then you can price and expect more if you are selling yourself. I have purchased many Porsche cars, generally at wholesale, and I can tell you, most potential buyers will be more affected at purchase by a cracked dash or body work that does not line up than an engine rebuild, an alignment or anything you listed. Good luck.

No Not really they are so cheap like $75 bucks for a gas tank $20 for a fuel pump $11 for a brake caliper they are allot of bang for the buck. I have owne a porsche of some sort for over 20 years and just think it might be time for something else.

as to body panels not lining up I would challange anyone to pick out the decklid in person(Hawk did you notice it when you saw the car?) the picture just highlighted it and called it out. as to the dash I have been looking for a blue one for a while I have not found any so that is a problem. The front driver side fender is no big deal eather I will probably just fix it and respray it. the items I have done were not really to add value other then the lights which upgraded the over all look (rear )

I am definatly not new to the game but appreciate all the input and was looking for a value of the car exactly as is . and it looks like 20-22 as is and 24-26 with the fender and dash fixed so not sure if I want to waste my time fixing those things for the additional money if my guess is wrong.

as always you need the right buyer for the car. in all honesty I will not be quick to offer it for sale but need a bench mark to work with.

What do you think the value is if I were to Part it out?

engine and tranny worth 10K?
Wheels 2K?
Interior and gauges worth another 2K?

Rolling chassis worth 3-4K?

Headlights tail lights worth another 1K for sure

Would it be worth it? Am I way off?

Are you in a hurry? It's strange but desire for cars seems to come in waves... Over the years there seems to be a cycle of cars 'available' then there will be a number of buyers bemoaning the state that a good car is hard to find... Can you afford to give it a little time?

Outside of the details, (and there a are a lot of people giving you opinions) my gut says $20-$22K for the car is reasonable... Lots of people would want a white C2 with LSD... if you have time to find the right buyer...

GLWS... either way. :-)
