Default 40 years later, my how things have changed

Hello, I have just completed my 60th trip around the Sun (60th birthday) and my wife stunned me with a completely unexpected gift. A 1991 C4 Cabrio with 45,000 miles on it... I was speechless, this is one of those things you dream about but it never happens in real life! I owned a 1968 912 briefly in college, but parted with it when I realized I could not afford to maintain it (flipping burgers). For the past 40 years I have longingly dreamt of a 911. But have not made the commitment, for all the reasons that really make no reason.

Well I'm back behind the wheel now and loving it! It's amazing how much has changed since 1968, this car is faster, more comfortable and more complicated. It seems like it's a lot harder to get out of than I remember in 1971, Oh maybe that's me..

There are a couple of minor issues to be sorted, Mixing chamber servo valves, a dome light that stays on and the alarm will not shut off from the drivers side when unlocking the car (so I unlock the passengers side first it makes me look like a real gentleman).

I've tried to attach a photo, but computers and I do not get along well... perhaps it's here, likely it's not...

Kevin

Congratulations! What are your plans for the car? Will you keep it as is or do you have any planned mods?

Congrats !!! She is amazing Kevin...

... the car is nice too !

And that's such a great story too. I know many people are not a fan (I am though) of d90 wheels, but on that car they look fantastic !
I don't think I'd change a thing on that car, just drive it and enjoy it !

I have no plans for any special mods, I may add a strut brace, but for now I'm just going to enjoy the dream... They are both perfect in my eyes!!!

Congrats!! My car was parked in the driveway when I got home from work on our 15th anniversary with a bow on top (car, not wife).

looks great. The dome light stays on for a bit when you shut the door or at least mine does.

Kevin, congratulations on the car. I for one would prefer a low mileage convertible in the garage as opposed to a coupe but that’s just me. As some have said this site is full of people willing and able to help you sort things out. Good luck with the car, a great color combo BTW.
