I had the same problems and modify the undertray, but there is an other rubber for this shortshift kit from Porsche its the same from the RS and cost €5,- so you wont have to modify the undertray. Its written here somewere.

I dont believe you can install this without modifying the undertray, at least on a C4

But I am planning on paint-wrapping the car,... Color most likely an RS mint green or baby blue,.....
Awesome Stephane! Can't wait to see the wrap.

I talked to Mark from Specialty Cars on friday and he also brought up the wear on the synchros.

As I thought, you have got it wrong Im afraid.

On a 4WD car the only way you can have the factory RS shortshift kit installed and keep the undertray is to modify the undertray!

Anyone with real experience with the RS Short Shft kit also saw problems with premature wear on the synchros,...

Were these issues most noticed on cars with solid trans and motor mounts,...?

More info on this Please.
Thanks

The short shift is a standard RS part so I don't see why it would adversely affect the synchros, although that could become an issue if the driver habit was to constantly drive around resting their hand on the shifter as it is positioned closer.

Just reading elsewhere, you cannot install on a C4 without modding the undertray because of the propshaft, which means you cannot 'flip' the linkage as you can on a C2

2WD = no mods

4WD = mods required
