I just noticed this thread. Your car looks great. I'm sure it will be a beast. What methods and materials did you use to clean your engine?

Paul, can I ask how much the heuer clock dial cost and if this was a one-off or if he is able to produce more
Yes of course. It was 113.14 euros including delivery.
It was a one-off but it won't be by now A lot of people have asked the same question and I know several have made enquiries and some with their own unique designs (see Frank's Black Betty).
Ed will make anything you want and I have no problem with you copying my clock face or you mentioning me to him. It takes him about 2 weeks (including delivery), Ed will send you a design for approval before you confirm manufacture after a couple of days. He's a pleasure to deal with.
Good luck,
Paul

Thanks for your comments
The black Heuer Monte-Carlo will be mounted in the same place where the steel Heuer Decimal is now (soon to be removed) on glove-box lid.

Hi Guys,
Life is like a box of....ARP heavy duty studs, you never know what it's going to throw at you. In fact I did know, I'd just forgotten...... it was so long ago
Never mind some of the stuff's here now, and these beauties look so pretty in their box that I wouldn't be surprised if the came with ribbons & bows on them.
Sadly the goodies from Mahle have not arrived so back in your box boys.
It shouldn't take long to build the top end once the pistons and barrels do arrive as the hard work has been done. Rockers shot peened and ready to roll....erm, rock
But I've saved the best 'till last, the PMO's have landed!
More soon,
Paul

Hi Guys,
A few pics to let you know where we're at with the project which has been delayed waiting for the pistons & barrells to arrive. Apparantly the HM Customs have relieved Nick of his pocket-money so they must be somewhere in the UK, delivery is hoped for tomorrow then we can crack on.
ARP head-studs/bolts fitted and engine literally under wraps waiting:
Average photo of tinware/covers all powder coated. Note the rear bumper stays have had the same treatment, as I had renewed the only last year.
A very poor photo of a very nice carbon strut-brace, sorry.
Some good stuff next week, I hope
Cheers,
Paul

Love the Heuer dials!!
Thinking of ordering one of these bad boys myself.
I love to see all the bits on these engines!! The parts are "works of art" in themselves (or is that just me).
Loving the build..more pics of engine bits please.

Good news! We have the new pistons and barrels and the end of this week will see some major progress. Again, apologies for the photo quality, I think I'll have to buy Nick a better camera
Now this is the part where I help myself to a large slice of humble pie. You may remember that I said too much carbon fibre can look like a dogs dinner. Well after seeing this next engine with PMO's from JB Racing I'm going to swallow my slice of pie in one go
That's is the look I've been aiming for, PMO's, ITG's and red plug leads on the top banks & now a carbon fan shroud. So I'm going for it!
Now I know this earlier race engine doesn't accommodate any heating for a street car but after talking to Mike JB Racing in Tavares, Florida (who was incredibly helpful) they are going to make up a 964 shroud for me (they've made them before). The new shroud may have to be modified after production and the heater outlet manufactured or modified separately but between Mike and Nick at Redtek we're confident it can be done.
The carbon shroud may take about 4 weeks and I'm hoping to have my car back by the end of this month, it's something we'll have to address when the new engine is run in and goes in for it's shake-down.
Here's a few pics Mike sent me of turbo carbon shroud for a Santos car they prepared. The indent to the rear of the shroud is allow for the PMO cross shaft.
Cheers all,
Paul
