Default 1991 964 value

I am new to this forum, I thought I would ask you guys. Is a 1991 Porsche carrera 2 cabriolet in a strong 3.5, 4 condition with a little detailing worth $14k. 39k miles, ac blows Luke warm, back window cracked, all lights work,no warning lights on,engine compartment spotless.

you missed the most important criteria .. the engine.

what were the results from the PPI?
what is the history of the engine?

a rebuild will cost you about as much as the purchase price.

+1 on the PPI

3.5/4 out of 5 or 10?

Out of 5. No ppi yet. It drove well. Good acceleration, did not smoke. Belonged to a PCA club member who has cancer. Assuming a good ppi, is it worth the asking price?

Good PPI and clean history that would be worth the price. 39k is low miles and getting harder to find low mileage cars. Even with the back window/top needing attention $14k leaves you a lot of wiggle room.

Looks good, clean and well cared for I would jump on it with those low miles.
back window has to be replaced with the top . Just as easy to replace the whole thing as the window.
about $1000 -$1500 to do depending on who does it for you.
replace mine after my window cracked with a 993 top and like the results.

If the ppi is reasonable I think $14K is a very good price.

14K is a steal if gets solid PPI by someone that knows these cars. Sorry to hear the reason why it is being sold.

The top and window is just cosmetic, and with any solid car you will need to spend additional monies to your level.

That's what I was thinking, maybe the seller's reason for selling is the reason. Shame to hear but you might be the guy to give this car a good home.

This car was given to the owners grandson, the owner apparently is terminal and not doing well. The grandson does not want it and just wants it gone. A shame, because the grandson stated the grandfather treasured and babied the car. He stated the vehicle had not be driven much in the past 3 years.

Looks clean, however it is cheap due to the low miles.....

Could be a real bargain, however my advice would be to spend some dollars on professional checks to verify condition and mileage. Even if you spend 1000 dollars and it all checks out okay, then it's still a bargain and you have all the docs to verify the condition and mileage for your records in the future.

Like John Rygg, I replaced my top with 993 version. Came in at 1200GBP and looks great.

Good luck
