Love the color combo - once you add up all the various bodywork this would have to be bought very very right - but in 10 years it'd be worth every penny and then a bunch more methinks.
This is only true though if the motor was cared for a LOT better than the rest of the car.

Let's not forget what is under the existing paint and if there is any tub damage. Alot can be hidden and evidence from the front cover the respray is not holding.
I think the purchase price has passed any dismantler and it is in the hands of the wholesale community now. A racer can look past most of the scars and will be replacing most everything. A final consumer who chases this down better have their eyes open as it has not seen any love in a long time. Love is expensive especially if your paying someone else, wishful thinking without due diligence is also expensive. Rat rod 964? In pink? Not my style. :-)
It will be interesting to see where the final price lands and what the intended use will be. Parts? Bad weather car? Project? Race car?

Almost 13, now.
A nice 5 spd C2 must be getting to be worth a few bucks.
Europe is leading the trend.
They cannot get enough 964's, it seems.
They must love the southern US cars, given the rust issues in parts of Europe.

My '89 C4 (Shrek) is the same color and was about as bad when I got it. Paid less for it though. I had HUGE fun bringing it to par and it has proven quite reliable over the last 3 years, dirven year-round. It has been gone through almost entirely by now, which I would have expected anyway for a car close to 25 years. I have a ball each winter going to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The looks I get...
Point it, if you're gonna go through it anyway, the damage won't change much, if priced accordingly.
