How far are we from the top of the curve though? However much I'd like for them to keep rising, can they really go up much more than what they have done already?

Amusing that they choose a pic of some 964s to represent all classic cars - is there a rennlister here who works for the telegraph maybe?
RS's have gone from £30k to £100k - so it only seems fair that ours go from £10k to £30k
Clearly £ for performance, the prices at the moment don't make sense. There is fair degree of fad in the current prices and fads come and go. So, imo no they can't keep rising for ever and they may even fall back a bit at some point but I don't think we'll be seeing £10k 964s again though, even for tip cabs.

Interesting that some people have said that parking their money in collector cars is rewarding even if you factor inflation, the annual repairs/maintenance and storage cost….
I am not too sure?
For example:
$10K today is not the same as $10K in 15 years from now.
Keeping the car in showroom condition has it annual costs.
Building a garage to house the car and the operating (heat, light, propert tax) of that garage has its costs.
Insurance each year also has a cost to it.
I do not see dividends, or income generated.
One would need to sell it for a large sum to cover off the years of carrying costs to show an actual return or investment.
If anything it is just a place to "park" your money….

I think even the NB cars have come up a good bit too, nice ones are pulling 40k. Crazy, I sold my mint WB 993 with only 25,000 miles on it for 44k four years ago.
