C4 now or Wait for a C2???
Hi guys, need your opinion on this...
Ive Been searching for a c2 coupe for a while and theres simply not one in sight for about 1 year.... theres a c4 with a good price for sale, about 20.000 dollars, and my mind keeps asking, should i go for the C4? Or Wait for the c2?
Guys who already drove both, which are the main diferences and feelling driving both?
I'm used to a C2 so i'm afraid a C4 would be dull , heavy, with more understeer, and without the oversteer i love...
Whats your thoughts???
Thanks

Honestly. You could have used the search button. This subject has beaten to death so often.
Basically unless you intend to race - no difference. Even then people race them...
Happy searching and reading.

Race Car
There is a huge difference in feel. Drive both. I have a c4 and love it but it's my daily driver Sumer and winter, rain etc. If I wanted a lighter more 911 sort of feel I would have gone c2. Simpler car and lighter by a lot , but it's up to you. If you want a more forgiving 911 the c4 is a little better, but strictly fun and flying around, tracking etc, c2.

Burning Brakes
It seems nice ones (C2 or C4) are hard to come by these days - IMO jump on the C4 as you'd likely not lose much if you were turn around and sell it later (months or years) for a C2.

I have both.
Both have great handling and great steering feel.
The C4 has really nice grip. You can make mistakes everywhere and the awd will pull you through the corner.
The awd shouldnt be a deal breaker. It only adds 100 pounds or so. Very reliable and fun to push.
Driving the two car are not night and day difference.

Just completed a 5,000km road and track trip with my C4. The companion car was a C2. The upshot is that there was nothing between the cars on the track, at our level. I got better drive out of tight corners and the C2 driver had more chuckability on the twisties. We both got trounced by 993s, 997s etc, as you would expect. Buy the best condition car and do t worry about C2 vs C4 until you want to go racing.

Three Wheelin'
I asked the same question just over a year ago. From my research, I gathered that the C2 was the one to go for as it had better feel for the track etc and I held out for a C2, which sort of landed in my lap and I'm very happy with her.
However, having just spent a weekend at Spa, with the London 964 guys who mostly (I think) have C4's and seeing how much fun they were having, if I was looking for a 964 again, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a C4!
Do your searching, look at a few cars, C2 and C4 and buy the one that best appeals to you when you see it and drive and ignore the 2 or 4 on the badge.
Where in Europe are you?
