Default can you drive with rear blower motor disconnected ?

Hi
as a temporary measure ,I do not think there will be any damage
engine cooling won''t be affected
the only thing that i can see will be affected is heating
Am i right ?
Incidentally ,what is in your view the best way to cleanse an electric motor rotor and casing ?
brake fluid ok ?
Peter
PS ,i will try to REPAIR the front bushing of the rear blower motor by drilling the ovoidal centre and then inserting a bronze bushing into the existing worn bushing
i'll let you know How i get on

many thnaks to you both
I defintely get some reassurance after reading garett's post !
One important point to mention
By design the main fan is quite close to the exhaust pipe and in traffic ,we do get fumes back through the ventilation system
I think I'll put a switch to cut power to the rear blower fan on demand when not required ,i.e. in summer and when in dense traffic .Good idea ?

If you're getting exhaust fumes through inside the car you should look at the flexible heater pipes that connect the engines heating system to the cars ventillation system and the condition of the actual heat exchangers themselves. If they are corroded and have holes in them it'll allow exhaust gases to enter the cabin which isn't a good idea!

I think having a switch to disconnect the fan won't do any more than just turning the temp guage down in the car.

Perhaps obvious but worth a mention - I had the same issue and replaced the motor (motor alone, not squirrel cage, housing, etc.) with a bosche motor sourced from amazon (best price and free shipping). It was around $80 at the time but that one seem to be up to $138 now. Anyway, not sure of the bushing replacement cost savings but if it doesn't work this is an option. Very easy swap.

(emphasis added)

Brake fluid is NOT ok(!), but I suspect you meant brake cleaner (which I also would not use). They make
specialty electric motor cleaner, specialty electric motor cleaner,
which is what I would use.

There is from babalouie exellent description of removing rear blower and connecting wires for full control for heating:

https://rennlist.com/forums/8891241-post43.html

In real wold you don´t need rear blower. Only if you need to leave your car as 100% original.

Have no issues wit heating with rear Cup bypass. Lot of heat by cold days.
