Washing the engine
Okay this may sound sound like a dumb question but any reason not to spray some degreaser on engine and wash off with hose? Anybody encountered electrical issues or mechanical afterwards from water getting into areas not normally wet?
I'm bringing. Car out of storage and would like to clean her all up before driving daily again.

I got hooked on the Drive Channel on you tube...AMMO NYC does a great video on engine cleaning and detailing. very informative and adheres to the old saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I just wanted to wash off some of the dust and grime from sitting over the winter and doing the oil change got a little dribble when refilling so thought a nice fresh engine clean would be nice for that area of the car

I washed my engine bay 2 weeks ago. Sprayed degreaser and power washed it. Key is cover the intake with plastic bag or something to protect from getting water in there as well as any electrical components. Looks spotless now.

also avoid shooting the water stream directly into the fan area as there are bearings back there. You need to hand wash the fan fins. I use Windex and paper towels. Purple Power degreaser streaked the fan paint on me.
