Alfas & Abarths
Started with '50s Alfa Giuliettas, then on to '60s Giulias......
Had a covey of rear engined Abarths when they were cheap, sold 2 of them and bought the green Corvette !

I was a HUGE Pancho fan. My past included 2 '77 S/E Bandit Trans Ams (both T-top 4 speeds!!) a '70 Formula 400 Firebird and a '76 Formula 400. but I also owned a '68 camaro R/S and a '78 LT1 camaro...also owned a ford...but I'm so ashamed of myself for owning it I shall not reveal what it was

saabs....quirky, fun, somewhat reliable, most of the time...turbocharged, 16v, although the early turbos were fun too, like a freight train....and then the early cars....2-stroke motors that drove like turbos, all the power delivery at high rpms.....had a couple of two-stroke sonett's, all fiberglass, 2 seaters, around 1500lbs, with 64 HP motors....fun

Some recent highlights for me prior to the 964 were a Stage 3 B5 S4, and a E30 with a S50 swap with some other nice bits.
Now got the 964, and a '65 Corvair Corsa Turbo. My girl also has her E36 M3 with lightweight bits and slightly modded Abarth.

Capt Ahab, totally get the 205 GTI, never owned one, but a few inc the 1.9. A great car of its time.
Two cars I miss.
1st Sierra Sapphire Cosworth. Factory std 205BHP, eventually modified to 400bhp!
It was great fun to drive, but as a daily driver and driving 30,000 miles a year, it started wear me out!
2nd and a car I said I would never sell was my Ferrari 550 Maranello! I miss it almost everyday!

I am still tempted to get a TR6 sometimes. So easy to fix anything on these cars....

Prior to Porsches, my love was air cooled VW's. I had three prior to my 964. This was my favorite. It was a 1970 Bug with a 2110 cc motor, disk brakes and Recaro seats. It was a blast to drive. I did everything but the paint job. The car was "built" in '85. I sold it 10 years ago. My brother now has it. I got to drive it last Christmas. It was fun reliving my youth.
