Default fun cars from our past(non-porsche)

Good afternoon gents,
I have liked VWs and Porsches for pretty much my entire life but I have one car from my past that I have missed. I am curious what others here have had in their past that were not P-cars?
Mine was a 1973 Mazda RX3. Would love to find another that has not been radically modified. So if you know of one???
This should be fun and interesting

I was always into Fiats.. that was my gateway drug. Spiders and X 1/9s were/are great cars to play with... and the X is a stout, tough chassis for autoX and rally driving - nice balance too.

Various 'proper' Alfas. The thrill of arriving at your destination, and playing the 'what fell off this time' game.....

Likely my favorite car from my past is my 1985 Subaru gl hatchback. 62 hp, tiny wheels and tires, two wheel drive. And I drove it into the ground, rain, snow, ice and shine. Learned threshold braking, heal and toe, double clutch (just in case I came across an Austin healey that needed to be driven), and how to take a line in a corner and hang onto whatever speed I could muster. My first spec racer ford race, I was six seconds a lap faster than the guy in second place, having only ever driven my little subaru. And I never died when I was young only cuz my car was slow...lol...feels good to be alive. Thank god for slow cars for dumb kids.

2CV... That is what I learned to drive with, loud and slow but loads of fun. I'd love to find a nice one States side.

Much respect for the RX3

I had an FD3S (JDM RX7) for a few years. It was an ex RE Amemiya car. Loved it but must have rebuilt everything on it!

Didn't half turn heads tho

Chris

Edited to get some photos up. This was 6 years ago before you question the taste!

My RX3 was a blast. It should have killed me the way I drove it. I got it for $150.00. the car had been in an accident so the driver's door did not shut or stay shut very well. I put re-tread tire on it. The engine went and Mazda class action lawsuit paid for a new motor. I learned to drift around corners in that thing. I lived int he country and had a nice 1 mile road I would see if I could peg the speedometer.
Imagine a dumb 18yrs foot to the floor, car shaking violently inches from death. That and the front riders seat reclined!! Lots of found memories riding in that car

Love these! A friend had one with an MI16 conversion, it was white with red carpets

I'd have one now, but the missus hates them

Had one too in red - fantastic car and plenty of power for the chassis. No need for the 1.9!

It was followed by a Clio 1.8 16v - it was quicker than the gti but lacked the personality and analogue feel. Next was my first 964....

I miss the white one, built the black one as a tribute to what i wish i had done to the white one. The abarth was right before my 964, awesome little car. Posting my noble as it was probably the worst car ive ever owned, but still awesome.

Where's the pics guys?? :-)

I was (am) an Audi guy since Day 1. Learned to drive in my dad's 1984 4000s Quattro. I got one years later - LOVED it. BUT then I got my dream car - 1984 Audi Quattro. Owned it for 14 years - did everything to it - 3B 20V motor running 23 psi, suspension, Euros, paint, swapped the interior, I could go on. Everyday supercar. But it was time to move on....

I don't have any pics of my RX3
Thanks to all who have shared the pics though!
