If you replace coils or coilpacks on a standard ecu you really need to check the specs match but for an aftermarket ecu you can configure it to work with whatever coilpacks you are using.

Maybe im joining but that i know for sure next week. Depending if the engine GT3 is delivered this week im going to do an conversion. And i'm going to ask mine engineer if he think this is usefull. But now the question can i connect this ECU with an GT3 engine in a 964?

You can use VEMS with GT3 engine but there is no point in using plug and play version meant for 964 as you most likely will not use 964 engine harness, or will you?
VEMS supports Variocam (fully variable one also with both camshafts) and can be used to control GT3 engine.

Guys if you want to use a Bosch (style) 6 way coil, and you want it to be cheap, how about this? $25 shipped.

bosch 'style' but not bosch. Different appearance, plug type and plug location. Generic Chinese parts? I bought two genuine bosch items from a motor factor (the correct part no is also used on V6 Vauxhalls) for 60quid each.

Specialist Components who make that ecu sell a kit for the 964 in the uk. Sharkwerks may be reselling the SC kit or may have their own variation.
Generally the results seem pretty good and there a few of their uk customers who have posted on this thread in the past. I would say it needs calibration on a dyno by someone familiar with the ecu (or someone not being paid by the hour) to get satisfaction.
