Default Linen carpet to black...hurt value?

I have linen carpet in my stock 964. I called appbiz today to inquire about replacing it. He said it isn't very desirable and they don't even carry it. He recommended black.
Would you guys put black carpet in? Should i look harder to find linen?
How much would it hurt resale? ( not that i'm planning to sell for a long time!)

I'd change to black if your linen interior is shot. I think linen is a beautiful interior though, and I bet World Upholstery has it in german silverknit. I think i'd keep it original, but it depends on how dirty of feet you have I guess.

I kept my light grey as reasonably original, and went to Southbound for a full carpet set, albeit RS flavoured. For originality.

Cabrio.de stocks the Linen carpet for a price.

Have you tried a good wet vacuum and intensive carpet cleaner? I thought my Linen was past it when I first bought the car, but its a lot cleaner now!

If you want to swap to black and you're really worried about originality then keep the Linen in storage to give the next owner a choice.

I think things this easily reversed won't bring value down.

You could also go with Linnen and get black mats for the 'dirty' period of the year.

Don't trust a store that sells only black that it's the common thing to do. Of course it is... for them.

I think if you want to re-carpet the car, and you aren't going with linen again, you shouldn't limit yourself to black, and you shouldn't limit yourself to the standard carpet.

Were it me, and I had linen, I would see an opportunity to do something really cool inside.

On the black thing specifically, I think black would add too much contrast to the interior. I also don't think it would affect the value at all. So choose what you like. You can have any color and any material.

Too funny I'm debating this EXACT question right now. Slate Gray Metallic exterior, Linen interior. Throw down the $ to stick with the Linen or go with something different...

Last night started wondering how a Charcoal might work - less contrasty than the Black, more inline with the exterior. All thoughts welcome

Have seen a slate grey with charcoal carpets and linen leather (think its original) will look for pics if you want, looked pretty good.

I bought these bits from Rennline and will be installing tomorrow. Kind of like a poor man's Singer 911. Mine are worst in the Driver floorboard section. This will buy me some time. Plus i think they look cool!

They're the guys I'm using for my carpets and seat covers, while I haven't got them through yet, the service from Wouter has been brilliant. Looking forward to seeing them come through

So far good price, good service
