Saw this in Porsche Fahrer - a German magazine last week...

993 values begin where 964 values end...

Yes , but they also value the 964 C4 more than the C2. Surely that's not right?!

They also have the 993TT at 160 and the 964 T 3.6 at 155 cabs worth more than coupes and C4's more than C2's something isn't right. That is contrary to everything I have heard about the market over there.

I do often see cabs here in Italy advertised for more than coupes and can never understand why, other than maybe people think they're worth more since they cost more when new. You don't see that many convertible cars on the road here either as it's way too hot to be able to use one in the summer anyway!

The prices in the magazine above were likely bought in from a 3rd party, so even though it's a Porsche magazine, they probably won't have been prepared by them.

Funny... that topic didn't come up this weekend. I think we are both happy...

Hey Cobalt. Long time no talk.

I sure wished I would have hung on to a 94 3.6T along the way. Always one of my favs and I think this one will go crazy in the future no matter how good the 993tts are.

Hello!

Is this white 964 overpriced or 993 under real value? More pics could be found from address mentioned in the pictures.

Wow blast from the past. I was wondering where you disappeared to. Still have some of your Porsche's?

No love for the 996 on Jalopnik ... I'll stick with Air-cooled 911's
Porsche 911 (996) Number 3 of the Ten Worst Cars Of The 1990s

The 996 is widely known as the disgrace to the 911 family.
It came out of a time where Porsche wasn’t at its best financially and it showed. The styling seemed to be carried over from the Boxster, the cheapest Porsche on sale at the time, which made it unattractive to 911 owners of previous generations. Not to mention all the issues that arose with the first Porsche’s first generation water cooling technology.

996 one of the worst car of the 90's! What a load of rubbish. Ok they may feel a little flimsy in places but they drive great and drive even better with a very small input of cash!

996's, especially GT3s and turbos are excellent cars and will be looked at more favorably by the masses in the future.

The GT3 and Turbo use a Mezger designed block and do not suffer the same catastrophic issues experienced by the 996/997 NA engines.
Both the 996/997 GT3 and Turbo use the classic 911 split-case, dry-sump race engine and are great cars that will continue to appreciate.

Not sure what a 996 has to do with the question in the original post or any of the following posts. It is a stupid article written by someone that knows next to nothing about cars. I can think of dozens of cars made in the 90's worse than any 996.

I read somewhere the 993 may be the last air cooled......but the 964 is the VERY last hand formed and hand built air cooled....the 993 is when it all went robotics and presses....
