It's "fashion," none of it ever makes sense IMO. For some reason all I think of is Zoolander when I see this.

Any brand that thinks it's OK to destroy another brand (other than on a track) gets no respect from me.
Trying to justify it looks pretty weak to me.
Not that I have the highest regard for fashion, but I do enjoy something properly designed with nice quality materials and good build quality.
