Default Interior Fan Not Working

I have had a search around the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer, so i was wondering if anyone could help.

Pressing the demist button or selecting any of the 4 fan speeds does not activate the fan. This is irrespective of what my temperature is set to. Is there a fuse for the fan in the main fuse box? Also could the rear fan have a bearing on this? (The 30A fuse in the rear is ok).

Cheers
Simon

There is a 25amp fuse in the Front Trunk. It is Fuse #1.

If you are blowing the fuse, it means your front blower fan bearing might be on its last legs. Did you hear a whistle noise when the fan was on?

Many thanks for this, i'll check the fuse. If I recall did whine sometimes when it was working but not all the time. At least I have a start point now I know which is the fuse.

Ok so I checked the fuse as suggested and all it hasn't blown.

If the fan has actually packed up, is this something that would be indicated with the diagnostic tool?

Cheers

Simon, just so you know, there are 2 fans in the dash, passenger side and driver side. It would be a strange coincident if both of them packed it in at the same time, so my guess is your problem is electrical.

I was just having this issue.

The first thing to check are the fuses. The Climate Control Unit (CCU) have several power supplies and fuses, these can be tested with a voltmeter on the CCU harness connectors:
Pin K1, GND
Pin K2, Terminal 30, permanent +12V, Fuse 1
Pin G17, Terminal 58d instrument lights, Fuse 36
Pin G29, Terminal X, switched +12V, Fuse 28 (This was the issue for me. The 28 fuse was in the 27 slot). Now I am getting full fan force.
Pin G35, Terminal 15, switched +12V, Fuse 17

The 964 fuse box is known to become loose in the fuse holders, causing intermittent contact. Wiggle the fuses.

Not sure if this applies, but in my '88 the footwell fans will not run without the engine compartment cabin heat blower running, drawing enough electrical current to activate a reed relay that then enables the footwell blower circuit.

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but symptoms are exactly the same

CCU has power
small fan art rear working fine
All servos for heat and direction seem to work correctly
Checked all related fuses listed earlier in the thread, all appear to be fine

However neither front fan operates irrespective of what setting the switch is on

Any idea what could cause this??

car has just had a big service, which included renewing the Oil cooler. Now I know the cooler is operated via the CCU, but it doesn't impact the operation of the front fans, does it??

Thanks in advance for any assistance

To answer my own question

Atrer some one advice from Tore, I discovered the connector had become detached from the final stage amplifier connected it back up, and all good

Thanks to Tore for the guidance
