Motorcycle oil - use???
Since our engines are air cooled does it/would it make sense to use a motorcycle oil like Castrol RS. The motorcycle review read good.
Just wondering if anyone has or is going down this road- thoughts??

+1. I can't vouch for that specific Castrol, but as long as the viscosity is right a good quality V twin motorcycle oil is good. Plenty of oil threads on here, so most people stick with a few of the tried and true. A lot of people run the Mobil 1 V twin. I'm running Valvoline VR1. High zinc levels are what most are looking for.

Mobil V-Twin 20W50 is an excellent air cooled 911 choice, and Steve Weiner approved.

I've always wondered about this, what about the additives added for wet clutches?

I called Motul and they said it would be fine, the bike and car oil is the same other than the friction modifiers for wet clutches which not all bikes have. If you have a LSD (which have clutch plates basically) fitted you'd need an oil with friction modifiers anyway since the diff shares the gear oil with the transmission.

9 quarts of V-Twin on sale at Napa plus the Mobil rebate is $3.99 quart. So, figure about $36.00 in oil.
New air cooled 911 motor, figure $25,000 easy.
Is this the new math kids are now doing?
