Default Help on whether this RS has had a full re-spray or not.

I have decided to buy a 964 RS and have just started my search and still learning what to look for.

One car, a red RS, has taken my fancy. It has quite low mileage and is incredibly clean...almost too clean that I am starting to think it might have had a windows out full body re-spray. So I have a question that I hope the experts out there might able to help me with.

Attached are two shots, one from a silver Rs and another from the red RS. The plug that is to the right of the colour code sticker in the silver RS is gold'ish colour whereas the same plug on the Red Rs is red and looks like it has been painted over. So my questions is.....what colour should this plug be? Is it typically painted over in production or not. I haven't seen enough RSs yet to know which is which and I don't have an electronic paint gauge (yet) to test the two cars.

I'm pretty sure that is red on my C2.

How does the car meter?

The same plugs on my Guards Red '91 are also painted like that. The paint just looks odd on the rubber, which is why the silver is off like that.

The paint if OEM should be 4-6 mils (.004-.006")

Where are you in Europe ? The best place to go and see several of these cars in the same place is Thomas Schmitz in Germany or Paul Maclean at GT Classics in the UK. Those two are the recognised 964 RS experts in Europe.
Good luck with the hunt !

Hmmm....thansk for the tip. They have a very nice looking red one with very low mileage. I will contact them. Thanks again.
