So the time has come to have my wheels refinished and mount some new rubber. The cars came with Yokohamas new, but I was running Michelins and thought they did a good job. Any suggestions would be great!

What car, wheel size and how much do you drive ? mostly street or track?

I'm in the same timing ... as I need new rubber too.

My 3.3 car came originally with Bridgestone (on my COA), and I've been running the Potenza Pole Position S-04's for the last 10+ years, and I like them.

I'm running '94 3.6 sized rims, and my sizing is:
Rear: 285/30 ZR18
Front: 225/40 ZR18

... and as much as I'd like to switch to the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (since I am currently running the Pilot Sport Cup 2's on my 997.2 GT3, and want to switch to the 4S),... but unfortunately Michelin is not making those 4S in the sizes I run on my 964 Turbo. Oh well.

So I am currently planning on still running the S-04's. I've achieved good life out of them (mileage) and they do well for the degree of pushing the car hard in the twisties. I don't push that car as hard as I do the GT3,... but I take it to where I still feel safe, but almost on the edge (although my wife seems to get the 964T a little more sidewayz than I do,... so maybe that's not the best tire for her :-)

Turbo 3.6 here as well, and I was running BFG Comp-2 in stock size: 225/40X18 and 265/35X18. They were totally fine for me, no issues at all, but they aged out. I live in a mountainous area and my ambient temps when I am out are ~30F - 85F.

My original SpeedLines are almost done being restored by Jim Dorociak, and he widened the rears to 10.5". So I just ordered a set of Michelin PS2 in 225/40X18 and 295/30X18.
(Someone that I respect here did not have good experience with PS2, but I had them on my 997GT2 and I was happy.)

^Haha! Good eyes...yes, still have the old car, the wheels, but not the tires. Those were the really good old days vintage racing and I would go to Gardena for a visit, and you could visit with Carroll himself and buy too many GY racing tires! I always preferred bias ply over radial!

I have pilot super sport 225/40 and 275/35. Wheels are 10.5 in rear, I’m sure there is room for more tire. No complaints.

I'm the lone outlier here as I run Sumitomo 235/40 in front and 295/30 on the rear. I'm on my fourth set in my ownership.
I'll be getting Conti's next year, using my son's employee discount

My next tire will be more grip-focused, The YOKOHAMA ADVAN A052 got great reviews or the MPS cup 2. I don't drive in the rain or cold weather.

I ran through two sets of Super Sports in 225/40/18 (F) and 285/35/18 (R). Great tire. Now I'm running Pilot Sport 4S. Also great, of course.
I may be in the minority but the 285/30 tires just look to thin around the rim for me - I prefer a little more sidewall. So the 285/35 works great for me. And I went to 235/40 upfront to keep things looking balanced. Very happy with that sizing.

I may switch to 235 in the front as well. No rubbing with 235 in the front? Do you happen to know if your front wheel offset is the same as a stock 3.6 Speedline? Do you notice the negative rake, since your front diameter is greater than rear? Thank you.

Have a look at the new Bridgestone Potenza Sport line.
In all the tests they beat Michelin

@delanobe where are you researching the Bridgestone "Sport" line? I am not seeing that specifically on the Bridgestone site, nor on Tire Rack.

I still see all the Potenza RE & SO lines,... of which I mentioned I have been using the Potenza S-04 Pole Position for many years. But it sounds like you are referencing a BRAND NEW line.

Please let me know where to go look at these, compare,.. and even if Tire Rack is selling? ... or better yet my Porsche Dealership Parts Dept beats any price I can find out there.

I do believe the offset is the same as a Speedline (my wheels are RH's). I use a 8 mm spacer and rolled wheelwell lips to prevent rubbing both inside and out.
No rake issues as the actual diameters between front and rear are fairly close.
FYI, the Turbo S was spec'ed from the factory with 235's so I can't take credit for the idea.
