"Cushy and fancy" do not relate to an F430......it is raw and harsh in many ways a Porsche cannot be. Don't get me wrong, I love both cars, but until you have driven both "extensively" you should do so.
My fathers friend has an Enzo and I have been in it and an F430. Unfortunately, I have not driven either. From the passenger seat In comparison the Enzo feels like it has more torque and much faster than the F430 The F430 starts strong but the Enzo takes it from there. To be honest when looking at and sitting in the F430 compared to the Enzo and turbo 3.6 the F430 can definitely be described as "Cushy and Fancy" Even the road feel from the passenger seat felt cushy compared to either.

Nice car but I would not trade my turbo for one and the maintenance is a nightmare compared to any Porsche. I also find the fit and finish to be only surface deep and quality control is lacking for the price of these vehicles.

Out of curiousty how tough is the F1 transmission to operate? Must be harder than the e-gear Lamborghini puts in their raw sports car....that paddle shift manumatic is a tough one....

"Why don't you pull Torque ratings on let's say the T348, F355, F360 and F430. Uhh snap?None of these will come close to the 965."

As far as I can tell, the 3.6L 964 version turbo engine produced 383 lbft of torque and 360hp. I welcome corrected specs.

The F430 specs (source is the factory) are about 490 hp and 343 lbft of torque. Close, but the old turbo wins!

The 599 crushes both cars, as it ought to, given it's by far the newest, and just a wee bit more expensive than the turbo. Your original comment criticized Ferrari engine torque in general. The 1991 F40 has 425; the '91 Testarossa about 360. You may say these are apples to the turbo's orange - so be it, but there are the numbers.

I don't think anyone is claiming Ferraris are the fastest thing on the road. I try to stay out of arguments about which car is "better," as I can't even make up my own mind. I'd love to own a 964 turbo.

The 430 is significant advance from the 360 - even the Stradale (425 hp, 275 lbft).

Well, that is one sexy F430. I really like the spider version, but I think Ferrari has to do something with the front apron. This F430's reiteration of the F360-which to me looks like a plecaustimus (sp),you know, the bottom dwelling ugly fish that sticks to the inside of an aquarium.....

I think the F355 had a better apron (front nose).

I know what you mean. I always get worked up over nothing. My brother thinks they are going to kick me off the site (maybe) But.....this is a Porsche forum...so.....most of the people on here own Porsches.......so...what do you think about a biased response for Porsches. Maybe just maybe rennlisters think Porsches are better...that's why they bought them...just assuming. Wondering if going on a "F-car" site might stir anything up if I start making comments about Porsche being better. Probably Maybe?

Thanks, I just got the 965 and it's fantastic. I had a purple Lotus Esprit back about a year or so ago and was going up I 10 towards Fair Oaks, I really wouldn't call it a race. I think it was you that came up behind me and we both kinda stepped on it. But I remember thinking, man that thing is fast. I ended up exiting Fair Oaks and you kept going straight. It sure did look a lot like your car. Great car
