Bad Boys Turbo 3.6 under new ownership...
Ladies and Gents,
I'd like to keep the community aware that the "Bad Boys" Turbo 3.6 is now in wonderful hands with the Drendel Collection here in Hickory, NC and many thanks to Mike for helping preserve it.
I had my first glimpse of the car this afternoon, and I must say, you can almost hear Martin Lawrence yelling at Will Smith when you get close enough to it!
Anyway, onto the pictures of the car...
Enjoy!

Hope it doesn't just get hidden away in a garage somewhere! The license plate alone is priceless.

Well it looks like Trevor beat me to it. I was going to announce sale of the car
soon , just wanted to make sure buyer was OK with his name being out there.
After months of conversations, with many people, I finally decided to let it go.
I know this probably makes me the biggest hipocrite here, as I said I would not
sell.
However I feel it is going to a great guy who will seriously take care of it and
finish what I started. Some here know what I put into this car since my purchase.
I am certain many will think it was just about the money, I assure you it was not.
I felt like this was a very special Porsche and to just drive it would take away a
valuable piece of history. On the other side of the coin I'm not one to just let it sit
while I look at it. The man who purchased this car has a very large collection of
rare and special cars and thru this process we have come to know each other
pretty well. He will take great care of it and I will purchase another and drive it
and enjoy it.
It was great to have owned this car and I have met many people and made
new friends. I'll post photos of my new purchase as soon it made. Until then
here are some photos of my last day with the car.

Mike,
Ouch last day pictures are always tough. I know it must have been tough to see it go. I will also confirm the fact that you had no interest in selling and drove the stink out of it the way it was meant to be driven.

I can see how it would be very dissapointing to own a car like this, use it when you can and then it gets damaged. A piece of history damaged forever.
At least with another car it wouldn't be quite so bad if it did get damaged.

Good luck finding a new car to enjoy with less responsibility.
Im in the same boat having sold mine recently. No rush , just waiting for the right car and
enjoying the process.

Honestly I was always aware of the potential to wreck it.
I'm sure driving the next one will be more fun and less stressful.
Besides I drive like a nut any way.LOL
I have my eye on a couple of cars now. Was going to do a flachbau, but
thought this would just be the same dilemma, afraid to damage or put
excessive milage. So I will just get another 3.6

Just so everyone realizes, this car won't be cooped up in some garage to let accumulate dust for years and years.
Like all of Mr. Drendel's collection, these cars are displayed several times during the year at various events and shows (Rennsport Reunions, Various Concours and several PCA events).
Just so you fellows are aware, here's a few of the icons that the "Bad Boys" car will accompanied by...
Lowenbrau 962-HR1
Lowenbrau 962-103 (Winningest 962 in History)
2.1 Martini "Baby Turbo" (The First 911 Turbo)
917/30
959 Sport
959 Prototype
McLaren/Porsche MP4/3 Formula 1 car
934 (Jagermeister Car)
935
968 Turbo RS
944 Le Mans
924 GTP Le Mans
993 GT2 EVO
911 GT1 (Ex-Factory Team/Works car)
...and a host of others.
Here's a few from the 2008 Porsche Parade...
