AThompson got a set from Jim D. two years ago re-finished for $5500 but Jim doesn't have anything at the moment, I believe.
If I had a 3.6 I would have bought a set but on a 3.3, it isn't worth it, IMO. I had Jim customize my RH's and I couldn't be happier with them. You's really have to know your stuff to know they aren't Speedlines and it was done for a fraction of the price.

I was lucky enough to buy a full set for 2300 Euro some months ago, but prices are soaring and there is not so much in the market. I tend to agree with Metal Guru ... that's a little bit overkilling on a 3.3.

What was the asking price on them? I think they go fine on a 3.3 . I know it perked up my interest when they were listed as original Speedlines on the ad when I got my car.

In my case the asking price was 3200 including a set of Pirelli P Zero 80% ... didn't need the tires, negotiated a little bit, got for 2300 including the hub caps.

Paul I always thought you had Speedlines, Jim did an awesome job on them. I always wanted a polished set and didn't think you could do that with the RH's. Glad to know.

To the OP I think you get a lot more bang for your buck with the RH's unless you can find an awesome deal on Speedlines. If I had a 3.6 I might spring for a set of Slines but with a 3.3 I'll probably go with the RH's especially now that I know Jim D can polish them out!

Jim has a great coating for polished wheels that's on my RH's. I had him etch the "Speedline for Porsche" on my rims also. I also have Speedline inner rims at the rear which are a lot sturdier (and a little wider) than the RH inner rears. I guess I could call my wheels "Speedline replicas" but I am happy with them.

I make one heck of a replica 3.6 Speedline wheel. I am currently working on a duller polished center and would love someone to send me a set of RH wheels so I can work my magic. Here are some RH wheels that I did a few years ago and set of Speedlines that went out a week ago to Michael who I did the black centers for. Jim jdorociak@gmail.com

One more thought - there really are no great deals even on the RH used sets. So many of these wheels have issues with bent inner or outer rims that when I restore a set I end up replacing most all the parts, bolts/nuts and many times I offer a custom sized, custom finished wheel. jdorociak@gmail.com jim

Jim I've spoken with you several times gathering information so I can do a set of wheels with you in the future. I will most likely be going with a polished set but was wondering if you've ever done a set in a polished bronze finished. I know it wouldn't be for everybody but it's something I might consider and was wondering if you had any pictures of wheels finished that way.

If I did do a bronze finish I think I would want the lips bronze too.

Just make sure you don't stop working on wheels anytime soon because your work is unbelievable!

I have not done a bronze finish. I have done clear anodized outer rims and a matt black center, and I am currently doing a complete black set of RH - everything will be black/ matt black those should be done in the next few weeks and I promise pictures to follow. I also did an interesting set years ago where it was a high polish and then a black tint into the clear coat which allowed you to see into the black. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim
