He did--figuratively. A locked tire has approximately 30% less traction than one at the threshold of lockup. He brakes too late, locks the front tires, doesn't modulate brake pressure sufficiently to regain some steering control, and significantly (and unfortunately) reshapes the car.

Maybe Sonny meant the guy didn't have the skills to drive a Turbo fast in that situation. I don't know.
I could see where it would be a challenge. Your coming out of a slow corner onto a short straight. The turbo kicks in just before the time that you should be braking. We see the result.

The 964 RSR has a normally aspirated engine. Boost from a turbocharger didn't contribute to the driver's error.

To much speed at the exit, to late braking at the entrance, wheels locked=no steering. I won't bet my money on that driver.
