Took the morning to read back through this ENTIRE thread from the beginning. Enjoyed the read & diversion from the regular grind. Thanks to all.
One post tugged on my heart strings. Yea, my kids are both off {graduating} college in a year. But memories brought me back (10 yrs ago) to when they fit in the back seats of our 3.3T,... and my son, every time he saw an overpass, yelling "Dad!!, TUUUURBO TUNNNNNNEL!!! PLEEEEEASE!!!" He looooved to hear the wastegate open. "Downshifted & ready to go son" I would reply. I'll never forget that. And now that he's 20,... he still yells that at me sometimes. Tear to Dad's eye.
Anyway, on to more relevant topics:: So the wife & I have been remiss with our insurance. I guess we've just been blindly driving & enjoying this car for decades. We had not done anything with our "agreed value" policy in a long time. It was waaaay under valued. We decided, after two decades of owning & belonging to the PCA, that it was time we give a PCA Parade a try. Soooo much fun the whole week, and several of you RNLers on here helped MAKE it that great time. But we knew that the trip would warrant a insurance bump. I saw several others also report that JC Taylor declined their request to bump the AgreedValue. They did the same to us (& we only had it at $43k). So with an appraisal complete before the trip, they agreed to $80k. We felt safe(er) for the round trip.
My question to this crew: Is that a decent level of coverage? We still drive this like we stole it, and don't care about mileage (wife had a BLAST driving it around the Indianapolis Speedway too!!) We will both be dead before we ever sell it, so could care less how many miles it has after we're gone, or what it's current "sell value" is (our daughter & son might care, but that's their problem). What we DO care about,... is what kinda of car we could replace it with, if some unfortunate accident or equivalent occurs. If we get $80k from insurance, my fear is that we would be forced to replace with a lesser specimen (hoping it would give us the same thrill as this one).
Thoughts?
Btw, most PCAers that passed by, thought we brought a nice car to the Parade. That's all I was really looking for.

Hey Paul, thanks for the reply.
( & I guess I should have given a little more info on mine, so folks have a frame of reference)...
It's got 78k miles.
It was rated overall a "2" in the appraisal ( although the interior got a 1 minus w/ praise on how good it is, esp the bolster on driver seat). So it's a nice example of a driver IMO.
It is all original paint (even the front bumper), with one small blemish on that front bumper.
It has a GHL exhaust (but I have all the original exhaust, passed on from 2 prior owners).
It also has the non stock RH3.6 18" rims.
And it has coil overs & has been lowered.
But again, I'm looking at what the OTHER replacement car choices might be, if I had to buy another with that $80k. And it would have to be a air cooled in the 964 or 993 vintage.
In other words, could I even find & buy a 993 GT3 or similar in that vintage, "driver" condition (higher mileage is Ok) w/ $80k? If so, then I would feel better about the Insurance company limiting me to that level.
I had also heard of several of you talking about certain Ins company policies that allow you to bump the coverage by like 5 or 10% each year. JC Taylor is representing "Foremost", so I am not sure if that limits them to what they will allow me to bump each year. I don't think they even allow that.
FWIW, I had Travelers before JC (going back 10+ yrs), and it was a stated value that gave me NO special consideration for OEM parts, etc. We left that policy a long time ago.
TIA for all the insight.

Steve,
I have JC Taylor also, great company and service and been with them 15 years but they would only go to I think $80K last year when I asked. I am up again in September so will start over again with them. My car is the same as yours with 63K miles BTW.

interesting to see what the OP predicted in first post...
im glad i got my 1991 turbo when i did.... prices skyrocketed.
car is super fun!
I am currently getting it back to showroom condition. Exhaust, guages, stereo, tint removal etc... all small stuff while i drive it. Car wants suspension too because lets face it, these things are now old.

Here are my predictions for average values at 25 year anniversaries - assuming a stable economy:
3.3 Turbo - 2016/17 - $150K
3.3 Turbo X33 - 2016/17 - $200K
3.3 Turbo SL - 2017/18 - $500K
3.6 Turbo - 2018/19 - $250K
3.6 Turbo X88 - 2019 - $300K
3.6 Turbo S Package - 2019 - $450K
3.6 Turbo S Flatnose - 2019 - $500K
Did I under or overestimate - what do you think?

I'm pretty sure hagerty will allow you to have whatever value you want on your car and you can bump up whenever. They never asked me for an inspection, only for pictures
To be safe, I think 100K$ will be the bare minimum. You can find for this price another 3.3 with maybe slightly more miles than yours
