Well, it seems I may have found my CS!. Black Japanese car just recently brought to the States. Still working through the details but seems like a very straight and clean car. May take me a while to get it into my garage but excited to have found it.

Yes, original wheels. Unfortunately a repaint but appears to be a good one. Paperwork is minimal except for original manuals. Have been told that Japanese cars often come with very little paperwork. Also told that Mizwa, the sole importer into Japan until about 1995 purchased all the cars and spec’d all the CS cars with air, power windows and radio…..that’s the only way you apparently could get them. At least there is no sunroof.

Fantastic result!!

There are a few Japan specific differences on 968's that your new CS will likely have. One is the the tail lights have a clear reverse light lense, they are normally red. There will be a mount in the footwell for a road flare and there is a warning light for your exhaust temp with a sensor at the catalytic converter. These were what I found on my ex Japan 94 968, also a non sunroof car.

Hey just curious…..were able you import this prior to the 25 year requirement because it was not registered for road use? What years did you own and race it? Thx

I love learning these types of things! I couldn’t figure out that this is.

Hey,
I thought that was for a flower. Kind of like the new old beetle, but 20 years ahead of the time...

Given German austerity and sense of humor I was going to say cup holder.....but in reality its a Japanese red flare holder as required.

Would be fun to try to find one of those vintage Japanese red flairs.
