Okay so I’m working on a 93’ Porsche 968, the car was running a little rough and then just cut off abruptly, I took the plastic covers off and found the balance shaft belt was broke and wedged in there but didn’t interfere with the timing belt. I read the balance shaft belt won’t make the car shut off but only run rough so why did the car cut off?

If the answer to any of the following questions is no, that is why you engine won't run...

Do you have compression?

Do you have spark at the proper time?

Do you have fuel delivery to the combustion chamber?

Spark, air, fuel. But not in that order...that is what my mechanic says.

Start with the usual: try a DME relay jumper or a spare DME relay with the 993 part number.
