I'd like to mention Butch the kid in 5th grade that shook me down for my lunch money until my older sister kicked the holy dog snot out of him

I think this violates the "zero-tolerance" policy. It's approaching useful information.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to post a negative experience with a vendor, whether it's a brick-and-mortar merchant or an individual, regardless of sponsorship. Is this forum a centerpiece of the marketplace of Porsche enthusiasts, or do the moderators view us as a captive audience?

Posting a negative experience is not a violation. It's a service to the community. A vendetta is another matter.

Personally, I'm a member of several Porsche lists for my 968 and 912 vintage racer build and would appreciate hearing where the kit was from so I don't get "stuck" like your friend by, perhaps, one of the other site's sponsors...

my $0.02

It's never fun to get something that you spend good money on and then feel like you where ripped off. Thanks for sharing!

I had a bad experience from them to. Sold me 968T NACA ducts and front bumper insert when I specifically asked for the IC hood vent. He said it was the vent just to make a sale, then I tried to contact him about it afterward and received no response.

Sad to hear, I've always had good experiences with RSBarn and never got anything other than what I was told.

Ditto.

I really havnt had any bad experiences with any 968 vendors/tuners with the exception of one and my only complaint was return time on my head when i sent it out to get rebuilt to my spec. Same place also sent me the wrong head gasket, but ended up sending me the correct gasket and let me keep the original he sent which was for a 951 (Which i ended up selling to a friend along with my 951). While i wasnt pleased with the amount of time it took him to get my head back to me, the quality of work was top notch.

You can't resolve an issue if there is no communication, sad it didn't work out for you.

On a more positive note..... there are 2 vendors that are Rennlist sponsors that I have found to go out of there way to give you good product info and a positive buying experience.

Lindsey Racing, you can always get Mike or Dave on the phone.

Paragon Products, same goes for Jason.

I am sure that there are many others but these guys stand out in my buying experience.

P.s. Damon @ Tire Rack also!

Well said, Joel. If we're going to point out poor vendors it's important to encourage people to support the stellar ones.
