Default FS: Promax 7100 Chip, $80/shipped

I have a Promax chip for sale. I bought 3 of these, two for friends. One of them sold his 968 and no longer needs this chip.
$80 shipped in Continental US.

If you joined Rennlist as a paying member and sold it here you'd still be ahead of what it cost you to sell it on ebay.

I sold it to a member here for $40.00

Maybe just bad timing, no one seemed to want a chip i guess. Outside of ebay, i had it listed on two other sights as well.

maybe if i put "RUF" somewhere in the tag, it would have gotten more hits and the auction may have been posted here by another member which would have helped the sale.

I purchased the one here on Rennlist. I thought $80 shipped was a fair price. What are they new about $150?

Not that I should be thinking about anything other than fixing my transaxle, but I am curious as to how they are. How much difference in power? Do they make higher hp in sacrifice of smoothness, do they increase and smooth at the same time? MPG drop or flat spots?

No difference in smoothness, noticeably faster throttle response is equally important to the hp and tq increase. I haven't noticed any MPG degradation or flat spot. Of course I'm speaking only of the Promaxx; running a chip with a higher rev limit could be a crapshoot.

With a quicker throttle response I am assuming that you should move through traffic a little faster with normal shifting and driving. Is that right?

Exactly; and improved throttle response is something that doesn't register on a 'chip test'.

I've driven both stock 968's as well as chipped 968's. I have had 2 diff chips in my car as well as a custom map. I find quicker throttle response with any chip (although i went to great lengths to imrpove throttle response even with a chip, as i'm not pleased with the 968's throttle response....especially compared to cars like the E36 M3).

Outside of that, i find that chips do increase smoothness when taking off in first gear. All chiped 968;s feel much smoother on take off then the non-chipped cars i have driven.

there are several chips out there for our cars. The Racer X, Promax, & RS Barn chips are all really good. I ran a Promax 7700 before i replaced it with an RS Barn S2, & am now running a Custom Map tuned for my car.

Thanks rgs944. They are $165 shipped in US, so what you paid was very fair.

One, why do you feel it is right to jump on a person's FS thread and take over? Two, again, another countless time to shill for RS Barn? Have a nice extended Memorial Day Vacation....

Amen Rob; I didn't see any point in mentioning his price for his chip, or another vendor mention other than his own agenda which had absolutely nothing to do with a longtime member for sale thread.

Why was Fox944 banned? All I see is a calm exchange of words and BAM he is banned, perhaps there is a rule he broke that I don"t know about. Please explain so I and other understand. (confused)
