Default Purchasing a 1994 968 and have some questions

Like the above says I am about to purchase a 1994 968 coupe. It has some defects and would like to know if anyone in Philadelphia or New Jersey area that can recommend some repair shops.

Headliner needs repair or replacement does anyone know of a good upholstery shop?

Rear hatch is delaminating and need to have repaired?

May have the seats recovered. Would like an upholstery shop that can repair the padding and leather?

Thank you for your help.

blue44 thanks for the feedback. I was wondering do you have any personal experience with them? I checked their website and the work they do looks great. If I am lucky enough to buy this car I will be contacting them.

I take my 95 968 and 87 944 to Provost Motorsports in Bordentown, NJ. I think they are very good. I believe most of the guys in Schattenbaum region of PCA go there.

Does Provost do interior work?

Hi Mike the Rookie

Went to Provost and talked to Max. It's a nice shop. When I was there they had two 944's and one 924 race cars being worked on. They don't do interior work or know of anyone that they would recommend. They do work with a glass shop that has repaired some hatch glasses for them. Max mentioned that they glue the delaminated glass and it works out good. If I get this car I'll use them to repair the glass unless I can find used one in good condition.

Yeah, I need to have the hatch redone on my 944 as well.

Don't let Max's age fool you, he is extremely knowledgeable with 924, 944 and in particular the 968s. I drive by there almost daily and they always have 944s and 968s there.

In my conversation with Max I was impressed with his knowledge of 924, 944, 968's. I talked to a parts supplier who knows him and he has highly recommended him. As soon as I get my car I will be taking it to him to look at a number of things. I did put a down payment on a 968. Not sure when I will be picking it up. There is a PPI being done when the weather breaks. Getting impatient.

at the bottom of the first post, you'll find some great vendors for comparison parts shopping.

Max has done a lot of work for me, always done right the first time and he's usually spot on with his initial assessment. They do work on all p-cars btw.

Try 928 leather shop or Paul champagne on the interior
