Default My '94 968 Club Sport in Oak Green

Best wishes fellow car enthusiasts! I'm a Belgian Porsche fanatic who has been visiting this forum for a long time, but finally found the time and the courage to present myself and my car.

I've always liked aircooled 911's, I grew up with a 993, but encountered a 968 Club Sport for sale some 3 years ago. I bought it and never regretted it, it hasn't got the iconic shape of a classic 911, but the handling and feeling is just excellent. And I just love that long hood and those quirky headlights. Moreover it is also practical thanks to the big trunk and allows for many miles and even more smiles per gallon. It has got everything I want from a weekend car.

My 968 CS recieved some mods over the years, it is now fitted with a KW V3 suspension, M030 antiroll bars, M030 front brakes, Recaro bucket seats and a CarGraphic N-GT exhaust system.

The colour of my CS, Oak Green, is rather special. It was only available on the 'regular' 968 during modelyear '92 and '93. Since you could only deviate from the original 5 CS colours in '94 and '95, it does seem likely that my '94 CS (which was built at the end of 1993) is rather unique.

My car can also be found in the 968 CS register:

Beautiful color. Some more photos to show her off would be awesome.

Nice - really like the color!

What tire size(s) are you running?

Very nice 968. Could it be a "color to sample" 968 where someone paid to have it in a color that was no longer available? You can learn more about C2S 968s here:

Looks fabulous in Oak Green. As J968 says, it's likely a custom-ordered color. There is a paint sticker on the car, would say 'oakgrün' I believe, along with the paint code.

Did your 968 not come delivered with Recaro hardback seats? I believe regular seats in cloth were optional on the CS.

Now you need to paint them in Oak Green as the factory would have!

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

My CS is indeed a colour to sample, with code L999 on the option list and colourcode Oak Green L22 on the car (engine bay). Sadly Porsche can't verify if it is the only CS in Oak Green.

I'm lucky enough to have full info on the car, since it was delivered at a dealer nearby and the sales manager, which I already know for a long time, can still recall the first owner and delivery of the car very well.

@ FrenchToast
I might just do that in the future, although Porsche only painted the back sides black, yellow, red, white or blue. For every other colour you had chosen, Porsche gave you black coloured seats.
Sadly my car came out of the factory with the comfort seats.

For the moment I run on these road tires:
Toyo Proxes T1 Sport
front: 225 45 ZR17
back: 255 40 ZR17

Yet another example of a C2S car where it was a color that was available previously on the 968. Most of the 18 NA C2S 968s are like this.

Good to know!

Apparently the first owner had a few Oak Green Porsches and wanted his CS in Oak Green as well.

Great collection you've got there! Since I like my CS so much, I'm starting to think about adding a 968 cab for the sunny days. Is it as good/fun to drive as a coupe? Or does the difference in weight and stiffness become noticeable?

your extra dash switches...rear fog or headlight height adjustment? I am curious.

the instrument rings look classically old school...very nice.

Avon tyre makes a ZZR in the stock sizes but they are not readily available on this side of the pond...I am on a quest to make that happen.

Excellent colour and you are very lucky to know the complete history of the car including the dealer confirmed delivery. You have something special!

I like what you've done with the suspension too. Simple quality mods making it well rounded.

Thanks again guys! I like my cars sober, discreet and classy, preferably stock with just a few modifications to increase the handling.

@ thomasmryan
Indeed, those are the ones on the left (next to the steering wheel)

@ brian0473
Thanks, this is the only other interior picture I have at the moment (unfortunatly it's winter time and so the CS is currently in hibernation ). The seats are non-standard ones, covered in alcantara
