Strong $ 968 sale, even in January
Great to see this beautiful cab bring in a good result, even in January. $22,622 and 55 bids (none of them mine this time ) are solid proof that the 968 continues to enjoy strong interest in the Porsche resale market.
Nice job!

Yikes! How much? Are they way soft? Meaning that our 968 cars are competing with the greatest sports car ever made? Also, bad news because I have a 986 for sale.

Yes, our limited production, scarce, wonderful-driving GT cars are competing with early model Boxsters because Boxsters are as common as sports cars get and the continuing development means a 10 year old Boxster is really passe.

^ Have you run into my man Denny Kahler down there yet? He maintained my cars for 30 years until he took his fortune to AZ. I fished your Dells one day. What a gorgeous place. Didn't want to leave. Now to cars. Yes "passé" but still the greatest sports car ever made. I am a 968 disciple (14) but that can't change the truth. So how much were 986's selling for?

Sorry, Jeff. A Hemi Cuda went for $2.6M! An unrestored went for $950k. OMG!
Not met Denny, is he still around Prescott? Love to meet him, we have a Porsches2Prescott event in May he might enjoy.

Betcha he will make that event. Thanx for Mecum stuff. I'm afraid to look up some of my past affairs with Porsche. 2 65 SC's one a cabriolet. 2 Speedsters including one Ferry tied a scarf on in 1977. 3 914-6s including the Millidge/Green car. 73 T, 75 Carrera, 78 930 and dozen 968's. Its gonna hurt. If only I'd kept them and scrapped my 401k and skipped the stock market.

I wouldn't look those up unless you want to ruin your day. You know what you'll find and it won't be good.

What are you going to do? I was into Mopars in my early years. In 1983 I recall a guy in New Haven who hung with us and paid $27k for a 71 Hemi 'Cuda convertible project (1 of 7). We through he was crazy. Two years later he restored it and sold it for $67k which we couldn't believe. One just like it sold for $4 million a few years ago!!! At this point you start to think about your good health!

I have always been lucky with health, women and cars. Casinos not so much. I'm sticking with h, w, c and avoiding the latter. No complaints about cars. I enjoyed them more than their prices and sold all the ones mentioned for more than I paid. But still woulda stayed out of the common investments and stock market if I'd known what I do today. And for sure I'd have stayed out of California's ridiculous real estate market. Invest in health, women and cars and I guarantee a fun life but you'll be broke at the end.

Broke? You'll be dead at the end. Better to spend your money on h, w and c and enjoy it while you can!

I know of a one owner 2003 C4s,fully maintained and IMS upgrade with 120K miles that could be had for 19K or so. That is a lot of car for the price of a new Corolla.
