[QUOTE=pleasereset;15525423]I initially wanted to post this as a poll but can't find the option.
My 981 GT4 is building more and more rattles as time goes by, and I'm wondering if that's curable or if I'm just wasting my time trying to fix them one by one. (Posting in the general forum to get a wider audience).
So amongst the following options, where does your 981 stand?
my 981 has rattled in the rear hatch area and just behind the drivers seat. I have been unable to fix them and they drive me nuts.

So amongst the following options, where does your 981 stand?
- I'm happy, no rattles to trigger my OCDs, only road noise
- Some rattles from the:
- Back/hatch area
- Behind the seats (safety belt hole area)
- Seats themselves
- Doors
- Dash / front trim
- Everything rattles I must take medication before driving!

My Boxster GTS with X73 is a rattle machine. I have them coming from the front dash area, behind each seat, the windows, the flaps that come down when the roof is down. I am severely disappointed in a $100K car having so many rattles.

Update on my '16 981 Boxster GTS - 26k miles. No rattles/interior noises of any sort, and I drive it year-round. On cold days maybe I can hear the roof flex a bit until things have 'warmed up'. But interior trim etc? Nothing.
edit: (since I saw someone post about their x73 Boxster... ) I have PASM, not the X73. And I am in an urban area.
My '15 Macan has started having some "loose plastic" noises from the back seats. 65k+ miles there though!

I removed the trim piece above it and put some carpet padding above the strut mount.
Now I don't hear it anymore in the cabin.
What's odd is it's only the right rear strut that's doing it.

same two minor items from my day one (at 20k)
pass seat belt clangs around when empty solved by keeping buckled in.
center armrest creaks under weight, need to disassemble.
otherwise aok.

I recently picked up a ‘14 Cayman, and the seller mentioned that the left door speaker was blown. On the drive home I heard a rattle from the door, but it wasn’t the speaker. Discovered that the window switch pod was the culprit. The shiny metal clips that hold the pod in the panel were loose and buzzed like a blown speaker when the volume was turned up.
I took the panel off and applied a small bit of non-corrosive silicone to each clip. I let it dry and reassembled the panel and now the rattle/buzz is gone.
Grab some gummi and lube all your door, window, and hatch seals. You can choose from several brands like Nextett and Sonax. You’ll notice a difference immediately.

My 15 Cayman GTS has a rattle just behind the passenger seat. I believe the rattle started just after the shocks were installed.

I had a rattle coming from the back end of my 2014 Cayman S whenever I went over a bump. On a hunch, I kicked the twin exhaust pipes with my foot. I head a rattle that sounded like something was loose inside the mufflers. Crawling under the car, I noticed the clamp at the entrance to the driver's side muffler had been sliding back and forth. This is where that end of the muffler is supported. It was loose enough you could turn it with you fingers! I checked the passenger side. Same thing. Now here's what's strange. The clamp bolts were so rusted that I had to cut them off with a Dremel cut-off tool. They absolutely would not budge any other way. (I didn't try heat, though, maybe I should've).
Anyway, you can buy new clamps for $26 each (plus an additional buck or two for the bolt), or you can use the existing clamp. I broke away the existing clamp's spot welded nut, and reinstalled it with a new nut and bolt. A kick to the twin exhaust showed the rattle was no more. What's curious, though, is how did these clamps get so loose while at the same time their bolts are rusted solid?
