I can pull over revs with my NT530.

Well dang, where in the menus do you get to that? Maybe I didn't need the Durametric after all.

Yes, haven't tried the overrev report yet but eager to. Can you please share how to find that functionality?

Did some searching on this. Found the link above. Doesn't give a map to where this data is stored, but it does show that it can be pulled. Did you all load/buy the "Porsche" make into your reader, or has that practice changed or something? Maybe that's why you're not seeing it yet?

EDIT: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-software.html has a video review where he shows where he can find the overrev report... and he provides a time-stamp of where he does this. Man, I love it when people do that!

I'll jump in my car after work today and then update this post with the steps and pictures. I didn't watch the video posted above, but I assume it will be the same.

Hopefully someone with the Foxwell and PDK will see my question and see.. meanwhile I think I'm ordering one from Amazon - since if I don't like it - it goes back as long as I order it from them directly.

I decided to make a new post instead...
  1. Insert your car key and turn it to the on position (no need to start engine).
  2. Porsche
    • (1) Car type comes with your purchase however you can purchase additional car types.
  3. SmartVIN (or Manual Selection then choose your car)
  4. Diagnosis
  5. Control Modules
  6. DME Control System
  7. ECU Information
  8. Special Functions
  9. Vehicle data
scroll as you please... My range 3 was from being rusty on track last year

I don’t have PDK so I can’t access this function... I could try on my wife’s Macan if you’d like. Not sure what you’re looking to do.

My question is - is this capability available with the Foxwell?
Same same for my 2009 Cayman S - added the flappy paddle wheel and would be nice to get the spoke lamps lit as used as well.
I had thought a new clock spring was also going to be necessary, but perhaps not?

Thanks!

Good info. I asked Foxwell sales what the difference between the two are and was told (today) that aside from the vintage the software was identical. Guess not. I've also heard the 510 has some difficulty reading a fiber buss on the newer BMWs, and the 530 has a hardware change that fixes that problem. Foxwell sales will offer a pretty good price on either one if you ask, and they said they can place the order directly, they just need your Paypal to send an invoice to for payment. I ordered the 530 since it was only $20 more than the 510. Haven't seen the Paypal invoice yet - but expect I'll see it tomorrow.

According to the chap I talked to - it was plug and play, no new clock spring needed, but his might have been a 2010. I'll have to check with him (I think he's on 6-speed..)

The video I posted above from a fellow Rennlister would disagree - it's showing a video with a 510 that does read the over rev report.

Great. Please post when/if you use the special functions ( batt registration, ABS brake bleed, EPB release, PDK recalibration, PDK clutch oil refill) with results and I will do same. Hope others in community join in with their results.
