Default New 981 Boxster Owner Checking In!

Just picked up my new to me 981 Boxster. Looking forward to a load of fun this season. I still can't believe it's in my garage! Better pictures to come as it warms up.

Relatively basic spec, manual with sport design wheel, sport plus seats (heated/ventilated) and Bose amongst a few others.

I plan on some small mods to tweak it. So far, clear turn signals, carnewal exhaust with matte black tips and maybe even some new rims. I like the Carrera Classics but I think matte black rims would really suit this car. Thoughts?

Been lurking a while, now I feel more comfortable sharing. I want to thank the community for the abundance of information during my search, it certainly helped identify what is important to me.

Looks great in that blue! I wish I could have found that color when I was buying. And if it was me, I'd keep those rims too - but each to his own.

Another small/easy mod: radiator grilles to keep leaves and general trash from getting in. Radiator Grille Store (who are active on Rennlist) and Zunsport (on Amazon) are two sources, both do the job.

Congratulations!

^Thanks! Honestly in pics the rims don't do it for me but in person they are starting to grow on me.

And yeah, I will investigate and clean any mess thats in there now and gets some guards. Seen a few threads on them already. Both seem to be good options.

It's a beauty. Been looking for first time 981 as well. the ventilated seats are a pretty hard spec to find in my searches. Enjoy.

Default with 20s

This is my 2013 Boxster S shown with optional 20s. Bought it in Nov 2019. I have 18s and Hankook RS4S for the track.

Nice! Personally, I think those wheels compliment the car very nicely. BTW, if you feel like deleting that front license plate & holder, you'll be surprised how well the plastic inserts from <bumperplugs.com> look. Not perfect but they match the paint super accurately and clean up the front of the car nicely and only $30. Cheapest upgrade you'll ever make on a Porsche.
Congratulations.

Thinking about the plate. When the weather gets a little better I’ll take it off and see how it looks behind it. Sometimes you’ll find rubbing on the paint. Also, the front clip is all PPF, hoping the installer didn’t get lazy lol.

I have a Platypus tow hook front license holder. It includes foam buttons to cover the parking sensor. I added the third radiator and adjustable LCAs for the track.

Not quite the same, but maybe gives you some idea what it would look like with black wheels

I love those rims, (well, I am biased a bit), I got them powder coated in platinum grey since I have the base model as well, and black tires on black rims with black calipers....looked like a black hole for me. Gorgeous blue color btw, congrats.

That actually really helps! I am torn, the rims are starting to grow on me. Certainly not something I'll rush into, but I really like how they'd look on my car.
