Default Failed to start, then fine?

2014 981S, 52k miles. Parked in a garage at work today, and when I returned I got in and turned the key, the engine cranked fine (not starter nor battery issue) but it did not even get to fire. I tried several times, once even letting it crank for a few seconds. I removed the key, got out, locked the car, let it sit for a few minutes, got in and it started completely normally. I don't think I smelled fuel outside but I didn't really think to, so I don't think I can narrow down electric or fuel.

Any common culprits? First engine issue note and I've owned it since 20k miles.

This was caused by the fuel pump relay in my 981S.

Thanks to you both. Intermittent issues are the worst.. I wonder if durametric will capture anything to narrow it down? Seems a lot of people replace both pumps and relay to be sure..

Sounds like replacing the relay first would be cheapest and has proven to cause your exact problem as previous post indicates.
