Has anyone heard of this being tried on a 992? I wonder if it would be similar?

Tried on a 991.2 but the GT3 steering options did not show up. I’m thinking Porsche probably deleted that selectable option on 991.2 and up. Not too sure though if somebody has any more info on this. I have a 991.1 and both GT3 and GT3RS options show up when plugging in PIWIS 2.

While up on the lift for the oil change service, the shop identified a few more issues that should be addressed. So, my Cayman is in the shop for a a couple of days. After that, I should know if they were able to make the steering feel change/upgrade that I requested.

nice to meet you today. What a beautiful 991.1. Really enjoyed it. For the forum, his only option was GT3 CUP which is new for me and we could only see it in engineering mode, but it did feel really good after calibrated. It was also fun driving the cars back to back. Thanks again.

Ernest can attest to this too but for my 991.1 the GT3 steering options did not show up either so he did his magic in the german version(idk if this is called engineering mode?) of the PIWIS and the GT3 CUP version showed up. Good luck!

Does anyone know if this can be done with PIWIS 4? Local Porsche dealer doesn’t use 2 or 3.

yeah the x73 setup and PSE help the cayman. I think you put an exhaust on your 991 and you will love it. I certainly enjoyed driving it.

having seen differences in the availability of certain calibrations on various cars, I think the only way to know would be to go in and try it. I would think it would be there. But on a few cars I had to go into engineering mode to see the option. While on my cayman and many others it was available in normal mode. Also on my cayman I only had GT3 available while others had both GT3 and GT3RS. I can say both cars that needed the engineering mode were 2013, while the other cars were 2014-16. Good luck.

Those that have coded many cars now: Will this work for a 2012 build 981 Boxster (model year 2013), given that there was no GT3 built yet? I wouldn't mind having my Boxster feel a bit more like my 981 GT4.

Also, I remember that when the 991 came out, there was a lot of negative feedback about the EPS, so it was mentioned that it was improved already for the 981s that came out about half a year later.

Only way to know is to find someone with Piiwis 2 and try it. I have not tried a 2012 yet.

I have a 2012 build 981BB, delivered to me 12/2012. My steering was changed to GT3 with PIWIS2, no problem. I assume it is the software version available on the PIWIS, not the build date of the car, that matters. My guess.

Thanks. I guess I have to find someone with PIWIS2 in the area. Shouldn't be too hard in the Seattle/Bellevue area

I believe someone in the Seattle area was offering to do the steering coding for people on the equivalent Planet-9 thread.
