PDK shifter question

PDK shifter question
Folks I'm a noob but have tried searching to no avail. I have a 981 CS and find the PDK selector to be a bit tall - does anyone make a shorter selector **** that fits?
I realize Porsche's logic was to raise the center console to ensure the shifter is closer to the steering wheel - but that seems to be a benefit for 6MT cars because PDK cars have flappy paddles or buttons depending on equipment.
Is there a shorter shifter? Thanks... TD

Yeah, I've never heard of an shorter shifter for any kind of auto. I'm not really sure why they have them at all these days. Just throw it up on the steering column or the steering wheel itself.

Im considering purchasing a 981 cayman S and struggling with whether to get PDk or manual. I see what u meaan about the tall shifter in the PDk but this doesn't bother me as much as the tall shifter in the manual. I test drove both & I guess because of the upward angle of the center console I couldn't rest my arm comfortably on the console which I'm used to with cars with manual trans. This plus the manual just doesn't have a short throw feel to me is why I am likely going with a PDk car. Btw, I would not mess with the stock shifter in the PDk. Just my opinion

Agreed. In the marketing materials porsche indicates the raised console is intentional to place the shifter closer to the steering wheel. I bet with the manual transmission you can find a shorter ****. My only gripe is the PDK transmission the shifter gets in the way of the hvac and PCM controls.
In the macro view this is a nit I'm picking in a car that is 100% perfect in every way.
