I have a 2006 Cayman S and a few weeks ago the stereo started acting weird. When driving and playing music (radio or phone) the audio will go out for a few moments with the exception of the subwoofer. It comes back on after a few seconds. Sometimes it will happen frequently and others it will be longer periods of time between instances. I have the stock system with nav and Bose.

My 2011 BS does about the same occasionally. By subwoofer, I presume you mean the deep bass in the background? Mine seems initiated by stopping and then restarting the car for something. Later seems to autofix itself after another stop/start. I don't remember if the CD player goes along with the audio failure or not.
