Purchasing a 2013 CPO BS
Looked for a about a year to find the color and option package. Finally found it. https://www.porschewestwood.com/used...CB2A89DS130652
Will be my first Porsche.
Will be driven sparingly for the next couple of years until retirement when I will drive more.
What advice for the car that will sit for weeks at a time in a garage at a second home?
Thanks in advance and really excited to take delivery soon.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
I hope you've put a deposit on the car before announcing it here.. you just gave it a huge advertising boost and someone else might be looking for exactly that make.. If not - call them 9AM and give them a credit-card deposit.

Congratulations! I see it comes with a porsche cover, so that's a start. I've been told to inflate the tires above normal pressures, keep it on a battery tender, and to put Bounce dryer sheets in it to keep the mice away. Good Luck.

Congratulations! That's a very nice build. Love the red natural leather. Only option I would have hoped for would be PSE. Can we assume you paid less than advertised $50K for a 2013?

My 981BS is also a 2013, and it's the best Porsche I've ever owned., when price is factored in. After nearly 7 years my 981 doesn't have a rattle or a squeak, and I enjoy driving it as much today as I did the day I bought it. You've got a great car. I also own a GT3 which is also a great car, but it cost me a little more than my DD .981.

Great color combo, you will love the Boxster S. My car is also a 2013 BS and it has been a great car for the last 6 seasons. As was already mentioned, battery tender, inflate tires to 48-50 lbs and make your garage rodent proof and you should be good to go. A full tank of premium gas with stabilizer is also recommended by some.

I've always liked the 981 in the 987 RS60 color scheme. All you need is silver seat belts and 5mm spacers to complete the look!

Very close to my build. Trust me, you're going to drive it a lot more than you think you will!
If it really is going to sit for weeks at a time, you need to install a hardwired battery tender. Don't try to use the lighter sockets for this. Hook up a good AGM-compatible charger directly to the battery terminals using a connector of your choice. I use Anderson PowerPole connectors, myself, but there are plenty of other options.
$50K may seem steep, but there is nowhere else you can put that money, new or used, that will get you anything like this particular car with those particular features.

Thanks
Thanks all for the inputs, suggestions and comments. The car will be housed in NC while we finish up our careers in DC over the next couple of years. We make it to NC about 1-2 times a months, slightly less in the wintertime. Our first grandchild in CLT gives us plenty of incentive to make the trip. So car won't be winterized for long-term storage, just not driven daily or even weekly for periods.
I lived in Stuttgart for a year (08-09) and went back annually for a number of years. Until now, I've driven most MB (current DD is a 11 MB E350M Wagon). I had a co-worker order a 14 CS when he received orders to Stuttgart; walking through his "build" was really what got me looking at the mid-engine Porsches.
Then 2 years ago, unbeknownst to me, my daughter’s FIL up and bought a 15 BS; didn’t even know he was looking.
When I saw the RS60 Spyder, I fell in love with the color combo. I came close to purchasing a couple different RS60s but loved the facelift for 13. Also came close to purchasing a couple other sliver/red 981 but this is the one I finally "caught".
Looking forward to getting it down south.

Terrific color combo and you will really enjoy the car. Great, and reliable platform and highly capable.
Congrats

Congrats, you have a very similar spec to my 14 BS.
Enjoy!
My first personalizations: Clear corner LED lights, front and side vent screens. Replaced the factory sport tailpipe with the Soul Performance X pipe. I also replaced the factory air filters with BMC filters.
