I don’t expect to win an argument here, just to persuade a bunch of you that EVs are NOT a panacea and I’m very glad I’m out of them. Exxon is also working on a non-fossil fuel replacement. Don’t sell your P car yet.
I had read that Porsche is working on synthetic fuel, this may the the exxon initiative to which you're referring, https://www.autoblog.com/2021/09/13/...l-chile-plant/

I don't agree. I like a loud exhaust..but a REAL one! Having "fake" sounds makes as much sense as having a Model T that makes horse fart smells to appear realistic.

As much as I enjoy the sound of my Porsche accelerating up a hill next to a stone wall, the last thing I want is any sort of artificial sound generator.

This thread has reminded me why we love these cars in their raw and primitive sense for the visceral experience no matter how sophisticated the technology gets.
But electric cars with fake exhaust is like watching Japanese ****

having fake sound pumped in would be liking wearing a toupe. if you're bald just do the best you can is my philosophy.
