Recommendations for Battery Maintainer via cigarett lighter reprise
This age-old topic hasn't floated to the surface for a while. I was just Amazon-shopping for the CTek when I noticed the Noco Genius5 has double the sales. Any recent experiences of information? My car will soon go from daily driver to on occasion sitting for ten days.

FYI - I've been using Battery Tender chargers on my Porsche's for over 15 years (997 and 987) in the cigarette lighter - I store my cars for the winter - never an issue

Battery Tender Jr here...
I've read good things about the Noco and the CTek. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these.

I've used Battery Tender models for years on classic British roadsters and currently have one on a Lotus Elise. They are very, very reliable. However, in a weak moment a while back I purchased a Porsche branded CTEK from Suncoast for use on the 981. I've been very happy with how it performs. I plug it in to the 12V in the passenger footwell and it keeps the car properly charged without any negative issues. I've been using it for three years now.
One thing I have learned to do (don't ask me how I learned this ) is to make a small sign that reads "BATTERY!" that I hang on the steering wheel when the charger is plugged in. Reminds me to not drive off with the charger attached.

Is there a reason you chose the footwell point? I believe most people are saying to use the cigarette lighter but that may refer to actually trying to recover a dead battery when that circuit would offer the capability to handle larger amperage.
