Chirp with door lock/unlock?
Might be a dumb question, but is using the key lock/unlock button supposed to cause a chirp like virtually every other car in the modern age? Mine is silent during both functions, hmmm.

It does flash the head/tail lights twice after it locks and then flashes the same once at the same time it unlocks.

I find that I get no chirp when I lock it normally. However, when I get paranoid that I didn't lock it, because I missed seeing the light flash, I will get a chirp on the 2nd lock signal.

I installed a 12volt "beeeeeeep" buzzer on my 987.1S!
I pulled the wires that operate the lock for the fuel filler door and tapped into it. It is a little of a hassle to get to the wires though.
Now when I lock the doors with the fob, it beeps!

No, the stock 987 doesn't chirp. I find that very annoying since it's hard to see the flashers from the side of the car (and, stupidly, Porsche didn't flash the side marker lights).
As others noted, if something is open (even the glovebox) then the car will honk a little. I've heard some people disconnect the sensor/wire in the glovebox for this reason, but as I understand it, when you get the honk, the alarm is NOT actually armed, so I didn't want to do that, myself.
Only device I've found that adds this functionality (and a bunch of other tricks) is this device: https://www.mods4cars.com/sms/shop/i...ode=view&id=49
A little pricey for my alligator arms...
