They are usually placed in the service book on the newer cars.

It seems that when the 987/997 came out the car had only one sticker. Some PDI guys would put it in the service book, some would put it under the hood. A mechanic I know was doing a PDI on a 997 that just came off the truck and we searched the car, looking for a second sticker, but there was only one. This mechanic is from the old days and put it under the hood. Why? He then writes the wheel lock number on the sticker, for use when that car comes in for service and the wheels need to be removed.

With that said. I am on a UK Boxster board where the "missing" second sticker comes up once in a while. Two 987 owners had 2 stickers, the rest of the 987 owners just one. This was the only time since 2005 that 987 owners reported having 2 stickers.

I have the sticker in the service book but the sales guy didn't know if there should be one on the car or not.

Do I take it that there is none on the car then?

Hi irishdriver,

just found the old thread....

There is indeed no option sticker under the hood any more. My 987 also does not have it.

Cheers Wolfgang

Here is a picture of one of the two owners I mentioned.

The sticker on the left is in the service book. The one on the right is stuck under the front trunk lid, just like was done on the 986.
