Default Good news?

The revised Boxster S and Cayman S models will get direct injection and the new seven speed PDK transmission along with a limited slip differential.

I wonder how it will compare performance-wise to a 997 now that it will have a LSD?

That is good news. Much needed LSD and PDK. I kinda still think it's down on power compared to the 997 but the new Cayman S should out perform any 996 911 at the track.

Well I am hoping it gets an engine based off the 9A1 in the new 997

320hp and a limited slip! These address the two of the three chief issues I had with the Cayman S when comparing it to the BMW M Coupe. Not a chance I'd move to one now - my M Coupe is perfect now - but I still think it's awesome the Cayman's performance has been moved forward.

Presumably the PDK gearbox will mount up to any of the direct injection engines...anyone for a next generation direct injection GT3 or Turbo engine in a Cayman?

Looks like a tuners paradise to me!

PDK is restricted to the lower HP/torque cars (no Turbo, GT2, etc)

Ironic given that the original PDK was in a 956. (I know the new one is not related other than by name.)

Sorry, I was referring to the current/modern/production versions of these gearboxes.
